Overview

Low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) may be caused by familial or primary and secondary conditions or disorders associated with decreased levels of HDL in plasma.

Causes

Life Threatening Causes

Life-threatening causes include conditions which may result in death or permanent disability within 24 hours if left untreated.

There are no life threatening causes of low HDL.
