MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of fibroadenoma.

MRI

• MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of fibroadenoma.
• It has limited ability to differentiate benign lesions from malignant ones on the basis of signal intensity and enhancement alone.
• MRI image characteristics observed among fibroadenoma patients include:

• A lobular, oval or round lesion
• Internal septations which can correlate with collagenous bands on histopathologic analysis.
