Overview
There are no MRI findings associated with pneumoconiosis but may be helpful to differentiate between other pathologies. [1]
MRI
MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of pneumoconiosis by excluding other pathologies. For example: [2] [3]
- MRIs can differentiate between progressive massive fibrosis in pneumoconiosis with lung cancer.
- Progressive massive fibrosis would show low signal intensity while lung cancer shows high signal intensity.
