Overview

MRI can be useful when used with positron emission tomography (PET) for staging esophageal cancer since it has greater soft tissue contrast than CT.

MRI

  • MRI-PET can be used to scan the entire body for metastasis with the same accuracy as CT-PET.[1][2][3]
  • It should be noted that endoscopic ultrasound is more sensitive than MRI and CT.
