Overview

MRI does not have a specific role in Kaposi's sarcoma. However, MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of Kaposi's sarcoma lesions that cannot be readily discerned on CT. MRI provides better anatomic detail than CT.

  • However, MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of Kaposi's sarcoma lesions that cannot be readily discerned on CT. MRI provides better anatomic detail than CT. Findings MRI may include ill-defined (flame-shaped) nodular lung opacities, interlobular septal thickening, and hilar lymphadenopathy.[1]
