Screening
- Patients with hereditary pancreatitis should be screened for pancreatic cancer.[1][2]
- According to 2001 guidelines, screening for pancreatic cancer should begin at age 40.
- In 2007, The Fourth Annual Symposium of Inherited Diseases of the Pancreas recommended the screening age for pancreatic cancer in patients with hereditary pancreatitis or those at increased risk to be (whichever is at the earliest age)
- 45 year old or
- Starting 15 years younger than the earliest age of pancreatic cancer in the family (whichever is at the earliest age)
