The most common symptoms are a chronic cough and daily sputum production.
Bronchiectasis History and Symptoms
Patients with bronchiectasis may have the following symptoms[1]
- Cough (>90%)
- Daily sputum production (70-96%)
- Hemoptysis (25-50%)
- Dyspnea (62-72%)
- Pleuritic chest pain (19-46%)
- Rinosinusitis (33-73%)
- Fatigue
- Fever
- Snoring
- Weight loss
- Recurrent infections with the frequent need of antibiotics
- No history of smoking is common
