- Severe volume depletion
- Hemorrhagic shock
- Rhabdomyolysis
- Sepsis
- Severe pancreatitis
- Comorbid conditions (eg, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, atherosclerosis)
Patients who are taking nephrotoxic medication
- Serum creatinine
- Urine volume
- Blood urea nitrogen (BUN)
