Estimated prevalence of WPW syndrome is 100 - 300 per 100,000 people in the entire world.
Prevalence increases in first degree relatives in which it can get as high as 500-600 per 100,000 people.
May be underdiagnosed given the presence of left sided APs which may be silent during NSR.
The incidence of tachyarrhythmias in patients with WPW has been estimated to be somewhere between 12% and 80%.

The incidence of tachyarrythmias is not well established in patients who present WPW pattern.

The incidence of sudden cardiac death in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White pattern is not high. A metaanalysis involving twenty studies estimated that the sudden cardiac death in patients with asymptomatic preexcitations was around 1.3 per 1000 patient-years. Neveertheleess, it has been estimated to be 4.5 per 1000 patients-years in one recent series.
