Overview
Biopsy may be considered in some cases of neurosyphilis if clinical findings do not correlate with negative serological tests and there is a strong index of suspicion for neurosyphilis.
Other Diagnostic Studies
Biopsy may be helpful in the diagnosis of some cases of neurosyphilis. Findings suggestive of neurosyphilis include:[1]
- Positive immunohistochemistry test of tissue sample.
- Positive dieterle staining in tissue sample.
