Overview

There are no echocardiographic or ultrasonographic findings associated with heartburn as a symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Echocardiography and Ultrasound

  • There are no echocardiographic or ultrasonographic findings associated with heartburn as a symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  • Echocardiographic and ultrasound imaging may be useful in the differential diagnosis, excluding causes such as heart failure or cardiomyopathy both of which may cause chest pain that may be confounded with heartburn and biliary disorders which may cause symptoms that may confound with heartburn and GERD and other causes.
