Overview

Other imaging studies for EMPD include bone scan, ultrasound scan, PET scan, cystoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, mammography, and colposcopy, which demonstrates metastases and underlying invasive carcinomas.

Other Imaging Findings

Imaging studies in EMPD should be directed by the anatomic location of the involved skin. Imaging studies should be used in assessing possible undetected internal malignancy.[1][2]

Bone scan

Bone scan may be performed to detect metastases of EMPD to bones.

Ultrasound scan

Ultrasound scan may be helpful in the evaluation of lymph nodes in extramammary Paget's disease.

PET scan

Positron emission tomography (PET) may be helpful in assessing regional lymph nodes and locating distal extramammary Paget's disease.

Cystoscopy

Cystoscopy may be helpful in assessing carcinoma of urinary bladder.

Sigmoidoscopy

Sigmoidoscopy may be diagnostic of cancer of sigmoid colon and rectum.

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy may be helpful in assessing colorectal cancer.

Mammography

Mammography may be diagnostic of breast cancer.

Colposcopy

Colposcopy may be helpful in assessing underlying pelvic malignancy such as cervical cancer.
