Overview

Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging may be used to assess the structure and the function of the atria in patients with atrial fibrillation. Further studies are needed to determine whether cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is useful for detecting atrial thrombi in persons with atrial fibrillation.
