Overview
Blatomycosis is a fungal infection, which was first discovered by Philippe Edouard Léon Van Tieghem, a french biologist in 1876. Later in 1894 it was first described in detail by Thomas Casper Gilchrist and sometimes goes by the eponym Gilchrist's disease. It is also sometimes referred to as Chicago Disease.[1]
