Suicide Tuesday

Suicide Tuesday (or Mid-week blues, Ecstasy Tuesday) is a slang term for the depressive period following the use of MDMA (ecstasy).

- This term is currently thought to be in use in Australia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
- Suicide Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after MDMA use, typically on a Friday or Saturday. This is due to depletion of serotonin levels caused by the MDMA high. Some MDMA users claim that taking 5-HTP supplements on the day after use will reduce the Suicide Tuesday effect by replenishing serotonin levels.
- The phrase is also applied to the Tuesday following a weekend of methamphetamine use.
