Overview
Despite of its application difficulties in adult population air-rotor stripping (ARS) is a commonly used method to alleviate crowding in the permanent dentition. [1] [2] [3] Stripping can be performed using numerous kinds of rotating instruments, as diamond burs, diamond coated discs and polishing discs.[4] [5] [6]
Historical Background
Air Rotor Stripping (ARS) is described in 1985 by Sheridan, and based on reduction of mesio−distal interproximal surfaces of posterior teeth to provide required amount of space in dental arch.
