Mesoblastic nephroma may be classified according to pathology into three subtypes: classic, cellular, and mixed mesoblastic nephroma.

- Classic mesoblastic nephroma (24%)
- Cellular mesoblastic nephroma (66%)
- Mixed mesoblastic nephroma (10%)
