Overview
Chest X-ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of Langerhans cell histiocytosis. Findings on Chest X-ray suggestive of Langerhans cell histiocytosis include mild hyperinflation, coarse reticular interstitial markings, and peripheral ring shadows suggesting cysts formation.
X-Ray
- Findings on skull X-ray suggestive of Langerhans cell histiocytosis include a well-defined, punched-out, lytic lesions with sclerotic borders.[1]
- Chest X-ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of Langerhans cell histiocytosis.[2]
- Findings on chest X-ray suggestive of Langerhans cell histiocytosis include:[3][4][5]
- Mild hyperinflation
- Coarse reticular interstitial markings
- Peripheral ring shadows suggesting cysts formation
- Findings on bone X-ray suggestive of Langerhans cell histiocytosis include:
- Well-defined lytic diaphyseal lesion

- No cortical breach or soft-tissue mass
