Secondary Prevention
- If the patient has low blood pressure, certain steps to prevent or reduce the symptoms are possible. These may include:
- Avoiding alcohol
- Avoiding standing for a long time (if the patient has neurally mediated hypotension)
- Drinking plenty of fluids
- Getting up slowly after sitting or lying down
- Using compression stockings to increase blood pressure in the legs
