Bejel is treatable with penicillin or other antibiotics, and with treatment a complete recovery is expected.

Pharmacotherapy

• Penicillin - in large doses
• Alternatives inlcude:
  • Chloramphenicol
  • Tetracycline - usually not prescribed for children aged less than 8 years.
