Ant chalk, also known as Chinese chalk or 'Miraculous Insecticide Chalk', is an insecticide in the form of normal looking chalk. It contains the pesticides deltamethrin and cypermethrin[1]. While these pesticides are legal in the United States[2], the chalk is no longer legal due to a number of reasons including the large number of child poisionings reported while the chalk was legal, the poisonous lead packaging in which the product is sold and the improper labeling on the packaging. The product is referred to as Chinese chalk because, despite its illegal status, is still imported from China and sold in Chinatowns in the United States.
