Overview

Hepatic encephalopathy must be differentiated from other diseases that cause personality changes, altered level of consciousness and intellectual disturbances, such as ,complicated alcohol withdrawal, metabolic disorders, sedative overdose, altered intracranial pressure(intracranial tumors, hemorrhage and abscesses) , intoxication by chemical agents, malnutrition, alcohol intoxication, hypoxia of brain, uremia and sever intracranial or systemic infections.
