Brodie abscess arises where the [[bacteria]] and the [[host]] [[defenses]] are equally  balanced. To reduce the [[systemic]] response, the abscess is walled-off. An [[osseous]] [[infection]]  can be caused  by [[hematogenous]] spread  of [[pathogens]] to  bone or by direct inoculations by  bacteria.
