Liposarcoma is the second most common type of all soft tissue sarcomas in adults. The annual incidence is 0.25 cases per 100,000 population. Men are more affected than women and it is mostly seen in elderly and has got poor prognosis.
Incidence
Annually 0.25 cases occur per 100,000 population.[1]
Age
- Most frequent in middle-aged and older adults (age 40 and above).
- Tumors of adult life have a median age of 55-60 years.
Sex
Men are slightly more affected than women.
Ethinicity
It affects people of all ethnic group but slightly more in the people from black ethnic background.
