Founder Park Avenue SmartLipo™ Dr. Christopher T. Chia

Dr. Christopher T. Chia is a fellowship-trained aesthetic plastic surgeon who holds dual certifications from the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. As former Program Director of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, he was involved in teaching aesthetic surgery to future leaders in plastic surgery. After compiling one of the largest series of patients in the greater metropolitan area who have undergone laser-assisted lipolysis, Dr. Chia currently serves as the Surgical Director of Park Avenue Smart Lipo, the only certified SmartLipo training facility in New York City where other physicians come to learn the technique. He offers the minimally invasive procedure at Park Avenue Smart Lipo 's plastic surgery center in Manhattan.

Dr. Chia believes laser-assisted liposuction is at the leading edge of surgical technology where patients can benefit from fat removal and skin enhancement with minimal scarring and downtime while avoiding traditional anesthesia. It has also proven to be an extremely safe procedure when performed by experienced personnel in the right facility. Most return to work within 36 hours of the procedure and resume their daily activities. In addition to body contouring, he specializes in aesthetic procedures of the face and breast. Dr. Chia is also active in teaching, participates in conferences and publishes articles pertaining to current issues in plastic surgery.
