Urodilantin is a hormone that causes diuresis through increasing renal blood flow (RBF). It is secreted in response to increased mean arterial pressure (MAP) and increased blood volume from the cells of the distal tuble and collecting duct. It is important in oliguric patients (such as with ARF and CRF) as it lowers serum creatinine and increases urine output.[1]
