Prognosis for suicidal ideation is good with timely intervention such as: Screening the patient earlier for suicidal ideation by the health care provider and referring them to behavioral therapies such as, cognitive behavior therapy, and also timely diagnosis of underlying mental illness which may be contributing to suicidal thoughts.
