Primary Prevention

There are no clear guidelines about how to prevent the occurrence of rhinosinusitis. However, precautionary methods such as minimizing contact with individuals with an upper respiratory tract infection, receiving an annual influenza vaccine, and avoiding cigarette smoke and known allergens that might trigger the disease may all be beneficial.[1]
