Differential diagnosis

Mucormycosis must be differentiated from other conditions with similar presentation, for example:

• Aspergillosis
• Orbital cellulitis
• Extra nodal T cell lymphoma
• Cutaneous Anthrax

Histopathologically, mucormycosis may resemble:

• Pancreatic panniculitis
• Gouty panniculitis
