Overview

CT scan may be diagnostic of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Finding on CT scan suggestive of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor is a rapid growth mass with irregular border.[1]

CT

  • CT scan may be diagnostic of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor.[1]
  • Imaging criteria are generally considered unreliable in differentiating from a more benign neurofibroma or schwannoma.[2]
  • The larger the lesion, the more chance of it being malignant.
  • Findings on CT scan include:
  • Irregular borders
  • Rapid growth on interval imaging
