Overview

Many procedures to help confirm the diagnosis of lung cancer are performed in the lab. Since there are different forms of lung cancer, such as small cell lung cancer and non small cell lung cancer, laboratory tests become useful.

Tests

  • Thoracentesis
    • This is when a sample of fluid is taken from the lungs to determine which types of cells are present.
