Formerly the British Heart Journal, Heart is an international peer-reviewed journal for clinicians (including trainees) and researchers involved with all areas of cardiovascular medicine and surgery, as well as affiliated healthcare workers such as echocardiographers and nurse practitioners.

Heart is the official journal of the British Cardiac Society and has been published since the 1930s, now published by the BMJ Publishing Group Ltd.

The journal went online in 1999, with HighWire Press.
