* Men
* Age 62 or younger
* Elevated apolipoprotein B levels
* Coronary [[atherosclerosis]]
* Family history of [[coronary heart disease]]

===Exclusion Criteria===

* [[Thyroid]] disease

Both the intensive lipid lowering therapies were equally effective.
