Endoscopy may be helpful in the diagnosis of DES to exclude other esophageal lesion causing chest pain.

• Endoscopy may be helpful in the diagnosis of diffuse esophageal spasm. Normal endoscopic finding excludes inflammatory and structural lesion mimicking esophageal chest pain.
