Laboratory Findings
- Complete blood count and differential count - anemia
- Fecal occult blood test(FOBT) - demonstrates occult bleeding from the intestines
- Serum carcino-embryogenic antigen(CEA) levels - has a prognostic value. Elevated levels have a poor outcome.
- Serum iron levels
- Serum vitamin B12 and folate levels

- Liver function tests - abnormal
- Lung function tests
