Risk Factors
The risk factors of central sleep apnea include a few conditions.
- Congestive heart failure
- Atrial fibrillation
- Brain tumor
- Stroke
- Drug abuse
- Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) [1] - patients with obstructive sleep apnea, and who are being treated with CPAP, may develop central sleep apnea. This condition is termed complex sleep apnea.
