Overview

CT scan is not often required in patients with bursitis. It is usually reserved for those patients who do not respond to initial treatment. On CT scan, superficial bursitis may be characterized by fluid density at the subcutaneous tissue.[1][2]

CT scan is not often required in patients with bursitis. It is usually reserved for the patients who do not respond to initial treatment. On CT scan, superficial bursitis may be characterized by fluid density at the subcutaneous tissue. Additionally, a CT scan will detect any foreign bodies.[1][2]
