Overview

Pulmonic stenosis is a dynamic or fixed obstruction of the flow from the right ventricle of the heart to the pulmonary artery. Pulmonic stenosis can be caused by an isolated valvular obstruction, subvalvular or supravalvular obstruction. Narrowing of the pulmonary valve is can be congenital. Other common causes include carcinoid syndrome, congenital rubella syndrome or tetralogy of Fallot.

Causes

Life Threatening Causes

Life-threatening causes include conditions which may result in death or permanent disability within 24 hours if left untreated.

Common Causes

Valvular Pulmonic Stenosis

Subvalvular Pulmonic Stenosis

Supravalvular Pulmonic Stenosis
