1. Obtain a detailed history including but not limited to systemic diseases, cancer, infection, neurologic symptoms and character of theback pain.
2. Perform a complete physical examination including but not limited to sign of local tenderness, range of motion, sign of radiculopathy, spurling sign and straight leg raise .
