In 2014, the estimate for ASD prevalence was 7% higher among white children compared to black children.[1]
In 2014, the estimate for ASD prevalence was 22% higher among white children compared to Hispanic children.[1]
Common risk factors in the development autism include:
- Male gender: boys are at higher risk for autism than girls.
