Overview
Rupture of the aorta is a morbid and often fatal event due to rupture of an aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, or due to trauma.
Causes
- Rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm
- Rupture as a complication of an aortic dissection
- Traumatic aortic rupture as occurs with a motor vehicle accident or a fall.
