Neuroimaging plays an important role to rule out the diagnosis of ischemic stroke and stratify risk for the development of future stroke in patients with ischemic stroke. DWI MRI scan may help determine the evidence of ongoing ischemia in patients with transient ischemic stroke and may help predict the patients prone to develop ischemic stroke.
