History and Symptoms

- Severe jaundice with intense itching
- Malabsorption (especially of fat) and steatorrhea, leading to decreased levels of the fat-soluble vitamins,A, D, E and K.
- Signs of cirrhosis
- Ascending cholangitis, or infection of the bile duct.
