Overview

Other diagnostic studies include nucleic acid amplification and demonstration of the acid fast bacilli from the biopsy specimen.

Other Diagnostic Tests

Acid Fast Staining

Demonstration of acid fast bacilli in the CT guided biopsy specimen sample confirms the diagnosis.[1]

Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAAT)

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) can be used to detect mycobacterial nucleic acid in the biopsy specimen.[2][3]
