Overview

Felty's syndrome is a condition characterized by the triad of rheumatoid arthritis, splenomegaly and granulocytopenia.

Complications

• Recurrent Infection,
• Hypersplenism → causing 2° anaemia ± thrombocytopenia
• Lymphadenopathy
• Skin hyperpigmentation & cutaneous ulceration

Treatment

Treatment is similar to that of rheumatoid arthritis. Splenectomy may improve neutropenia in severe disease.

Eponym

It is named for A. R. Felty.
