Epidemiology and Demographics

Esthesioneuroblastoma accounts for approximately 5 % of all sinonasal tumors.

Incidence

The incidence of esthesioneuroblastoma was estimated to be 0.4 cases per 100,000 individuals worldwide.

Prevalence

Age

Esthesioneuroblastoma commonly affects individuals in a wide range of age groups younger than 90/older than 3 (3-90) years of age. There exists a bimodal peak of occurrence in the third and sixth decades of life. The majority of cases of esthesioneuroblastoma occur in patients between 40 and 70 years of age; the median age at diagnosis is 53 years.

Race

There is no racial predilection to the esthesioneuroblastoma.

Gender

Esthesioneuroblastoma affects men and women equally. There was a moderate male predominance with a 55:45 male:female ratio. Males are more commonly affected with esthesioneuroblastoma than females. The male to female ratio is approximately [1.2 > 1] to 1.
