Overview
An accessory pathway is an addition path of electrical conduction between the atrium and the ventricle of the heart that does not involve the atrioventricular node (AV node).
Conditions involving accessory pathways include:
- Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia
- Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome (in which the accessory pathway is referred to as the bundle of Kent)
