The risk factors for COM/ROM are closely interrelated. Our meta-analysis identified reliable conclusions that

  • allergy/atopy,
  • upper respiratory tract infection,
  • snoring,
  • previous history of AOM/ROM,
  • Passive smoker,
  • Mother smoking during pregnancy
  • low social status

are important risk factors for COM/ROM
