Overview
Symptoms
The symptoms of irritable bowel can be monitored over time to gauge response to therapy with many surveys available.[1]
The 9 item Birmingham IBS Symptom Questionnaire. The Birmingham asks about symptoms over the last 4 weeks using the dimensions of pain, diarrhea, and constipation.[2]
Another survey is the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale modified for use in patients with IBS (GSRS-IBS) which has 13 items.[3]
