Overview

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification system, ganglioglioma may be classified into 3 grades based on the severity of disease and the degree of cellular differentiation.

Classification

According to the 2016 edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of Tumors of the Central Nervous System, ganglioglioma is classified into 2 grades:[1]

  • Grade I : lesions with low proliferative potential
  • grade III: anaplastic ganglioglioma

Criteria for grade II ganglioglioma have not been defined.
